Observations: A GCI Blog
Welcome to GCI’s new blog! Observations will provide members of GCI an outlet to express their views, opinions, and values regarding any observations they may have about GCI, the markets, current events, Georgetown, and more!
Purpose: One of GCI’s top priorities is to create a deep sense of community within our organization. Starting a blog where analysts can voice their opinions on countless topics will not only start more conversations within GCI about issues of which students are passionate, but also give our analysts yet another way to tap into the experiences and expertise that each of our members hold. Our ultimate goal with this blog is to curate and document a history of valuable opinion pieces that analysts can use to learn more about investments, their peers, and the inner workings of GCI.
How it works: Any invested member may submit a piece for review which will then go through a brief editing process where we may ask the sender to clarify some points or add evidence for others, but will ultimately be approved and posted within the week. That being said, there are relatively no requirements in terms of length, formatting, or topic as GCI wants to give its members the freedom to openly express their passions, curiosities, and ideas to the rest of the organization. Suggested topics range from exploring an investment opportunity, to discussing the difference between career paths, or even introducing a new initiative you think GCI should take on. Once again, this blog will be what members want it to be.
GCI’s #1 priority is the education and support of our analysts so if there are any comments or questions on how the blog could best contribute to this goal, we’d love to hear them.
